The Green Olive Italian Restaurant opened in 2004 and was purchased by Chef Sarah Labensky in September, 2006. It is located in north central Columbus, minutes from Columbus Air Force Base and the Marina. The location is actually a bit of a restaurant landmark, having previously housed the successful Mi Toro Restaurant and the long-running CJ's Pizza.
Chef Sarah worked hard to create a menu of popular Italian-American dishes that are made fresh daily, and to order. The unique Spinach-Chicken Pizza is a standout, as is the homemade Lasagna. Newer items, such as Chicken Manicotti, Grilled Pesto Salmon, and hand-cut New York Strip steaks, expand the variety of menu offerings.
The restaurant is operated by a dedicated staff of students and local restaurant industry pros, including several students from the MUW Culinary Arts Program. The General Manager is Hayley Mims, Sous Chef is Christopher Black, and Assistant Manager is Kristie Dean.
